External validation of SNOMED-based mental health phenotypes.

Our project aims to validate a set of clinical code lists used to refer to mental health conditions within medical records. In the UK, these clinical codes are called SNOMED CT. As part of the project, we will first check how well these code lists (called “phenotypes”) match with mental health conditions identified through other verified data (i.e. cohort data). This will help us improve the phenotypes which will then be shared with the wider research community to facilitate measuring mental health in clinical data.
