Exploration of Nutrition, Ethnicity, and Health Inequalities in 10?11-year-old Children part of the Born in Bradford Growing Up Cohort Study

Some individuals in society are more disadvantaged than others in terms of where they live, their job and how much money they have. This often leads to differences in health. In particular, those more disadvantaged can struggle to have a healthy diet and be overweight, which can also be detrimental to children’s development and health later in life. Here, we aim to better understand the links between deprivation, food choices and being overweight in children using a large dataset called Born in Bradford (covering an area in England with high levels of deprivation). We also know that measures of being overweight are likely different between different ethnicities. Therefore, we will also look at this in more detail to make sure analysis is as accurate as possible. This is so we can identify positive changes for the future and we hope that others could also use this information.
