The association between prenatal alcohol exposure and Early Years Foundation Stage Profiles

This study aims to explore whether self-reported prenatal alcohol consumption (PAE) impacts outcomes on the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP), a standard assessment of child development completed in the first year of schooling (when children are 4-5 years old).

Children with and without PAE will be matched on several variables known to impact developmental outcomes but which are not caused by PAE (e.g. age, maternal educational level, prenatal exposure to other adverse substances).
