BABI RSV IMMUNE STUDY

Help Us Protect Babies from RSV

Are you pregnant and planning to give birth in Bradford?

We’re inviting expectant parents in Bradford to take part in a research study exploring how babies develop protection against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). RSV is a very common virus that can sometimes cause serious illness in young children, especially those born early.

What the study involves?

The study has two parts:

Part 1. Collecting samples from you and your baby at birth to measure early RSV protection
Part 2. Collecting a second sample from your baby at around six months old to see how protection changes over time

You will also be asked to complete a brief questionnaire about your and your baby’s health and a few details about your household.

Why take part?

Your involvement will help researchers:
• understand how babies naturally develop immunity to RSV
• compare protection in premature and full-term babies
• learn how long protection lasts when vaccination is given during pregnancy

Who can join?

• Anyone who is pregnant and giving birth in Bradford
• You need to be part of BiB4All. If you’re not already enrolled, we can help you join easily.
