External validation of prediction models for the outcome of overweight and obesity in children aged 10-11 years

In England, 14.4% of children aged 4-5 years and 25.5% aged 10-11 years are obese. More children living in poorer areas are obese. Women and children are not screened to identify the risk of obesity at pregnancy or later. We will use statistical modelling to identify factors that predict the risk of obesity at 10-11 years.
