Bridget is a Senior Research Fellow within Born in Bradford, conducting community-driven qualitative research on the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families. She is co-lead of the Bradford Centre for Qualitative Research.
Bridget is currently Co-investigator on ‘Healthy Homes’ (NIHR) which will investigate how exploring and improving the energy efficiency of social housing can impact on residents’ health, indoor air quality and carbon emissions. Between 2022-2024, she was Principal Investigator for The Health Foundation funded ‘Supporting Young Bradford’ study which explored young people’s emotional support and families’ working lives in Bradford, as well as being Co-investigator on the NIHR development grant Co-production and Peer Research (CoPPer) network. Between 2020-2025, she supported the meta-evaluation of the ActEarly City Collaboratory using a systems approach and was part of Bradford’s Covid-19 Scientific Advisory Group, contributing research to support the local response to and recovery from Covid-19. This included an exploration of vaccine hesitancy and uptake.
She has a research background with interests in health inequalities; health experiences and decisions; social determinants of health; children and young people’s mental wellbeing; gender; work and organisations and qualitative research methods.
