Sonia Fayyaz is the Community Engagement Manager for the Sports England’s Local Delivery Pilot, covering Manningham, Girlington, Heaton and Frizinghall. Born in Bradford are leading on the implementation and evaluation of the pilot on behalf of Active Bradford and the project is funded through the Sport’s England physical Activity Programme, which aims to improve the health and social outcomes for children aged between 5 – 14 and their families by making them healthier and happier through physical activity.
Sonia has a strong understanding of health inequalities in some of the most challenged communities and has a background in community development / engagement and consultation. She also has an insatiable appetite for connecting communities and will be working closely with a host of local organisations and local residents to instigate behavioral change to deliver priority outcomes in partnership.
