I joined the BiB team in January 2024 as a senior research fellow focusing on physical activity. My current role will be working with the BiB team but also collaborating with the Bristol BRC to design physical activity interventions for a range of populations and developing new ways exploring physical activity profiles. I am predominantly a quantitative researcher with some experience of mixed methods working. Before starting my role with BiB, I was a Lecturer at Leeds Trinity University and have also previously worked as a laboratory technician. I undertook my PhD at the University of Leicester, working as part of the Leicester Lifestyle & Health Research Group, based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre. My PhD focused on the assessment of physical activity using accelerometers, with the ultimate aim of developing and applying novel accelerometer metrics to describe physical activity and explore associations with chronic disease. Prior to my PhD I completed a BSc in Applied Sports Science with Coaching and an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology, both at Northumbria University. My research interests include: the assessment of physical activity and physical behaviours, exploring the associations between physical behaviours and health outcomes, health inequalities, and non-communicable conditions.
