Revisiting the definition of childhood obesity

Childhood obesity is thought to be a ‘gateway’ into adult obesity. However, interventions to reduce childhood obesity are not very effective, while some overweight children lose weight without any intervention. This project aims to develop alternative definitions of childhood obesity align with later cardiometabolic risk, compared it with the conventional one. The predictors of different version of childhood obesity will also be examined.
