Ian Beesley was born in Bradford and worked in a mill, a foundry and the local sewage works before attending Bradford Art College and then Bournemouth & Poole College of Art where he studied photography. He is one of UK’s most respected social documentary photographers.
His work is held in many important national and international collections including those of the National Media Museum, The Imperial War Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum and The Smithsonian Museum in the USA.
