Lisa Dowling

Senior Research Fellow

I am a Senior Research Fellow with ActEarly, Healthy Urban Places and the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) Public Health Team. I work in the Healthy Urban Places team which is looking at how and why population health is affected by local environments. In ActEarly, I support ‘real-time’ research or evaluation of CBMDC projects, linking to ActEarly work, which aim to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people (e.g. Bradford Food Survey, School Streets). I have a background in nutritional science and musculoskeletal ageing working as a Dietitian in the NHS specialising in kidney disease and completing my MSc and PhD at the University of Sheffield. I am interested in how the built environment influences health, and specifically in the areas of diet, nutrition, and obesity.
