A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead a partnership of organisations to deliver a whole-systems approach to physical activity in Bradford. The programmes will have a measurable impact on improving the health and well-being of children and adults in disadvantaged communities. The post will provide strategic leadership for:
The post holder will strategically lead the JUMP and broader Active Bradford programmes, working collaboratively to ensure strategic partners are positively engaged and work together towards a whole system approach for tackling inactivity across Bradford. They will work with the Active Bradford Board and JU:MP team to develop the strategic plans for the deepening and expansion phase of Place-Based physical activity (2024 to 2028). They will also engage with various key partners locally and nationally. They will share learning from the JU:MP programme with local stakeholders, research communities and partners nationally and internationally.
This is an exciting time for Bradford with City of Culture in 2025, and Sport England’s Place-Based Physical Activity initiative over the next five years. As a vibrant multi-cultural city set in the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside, this is an opportunity to help create healthier, happier, more active communities.
