- Mariam began her career in Childcare and Education as a Bi-Lingual Support Worker, where she liaised with families, teaching staff and Social Services to provide support for children who spoke English as their second language.
- Mariam then moved to Financial Services, as a Project Manager responsible for delivering change across operational contact centres nationwide.
- After taking a short career break, Mariam took her BA in Islamic Studies at the University of Leeds, followed by a Research Masters in Languages, Cultures and Societies. Her thesis is an ethnography into the lay-Muslim societal discourse about the topic of posthumous organ donation in line with the Organ Donation (Deemed Consent) Act 2019.
