Changing practice across professions

BiB helped to bring representatives from both Health Visiting and Midwifery together to help with communication between the two services. As a result of this the time that the Personal Child Health Record (‘Red Book’) is given to a family has changed. The ‘Red Book’ used to be given to a family after they had had their baby, but now it is given to the family during pregnancy by their Midwife. This means that Midwives can pass information more easily to the Health Visitor and vice-versa.
