Research Data Analyst

Job Description

FIXED TERM 2 YEARS

AGENDA FOR CHANGE BAND 6

Brief Description of the Role:

Bradford Institute for Health Research is the home to Born in Bradford, one of the largest and most exciting health research projects in the UK, and the Bradford hub of the ActEarly City Collaboratory.

Born in Bradford is a family cohort study that aims to examine environmental, psychological, and genetic factors that impact on health and development perinatally, during childhood and subsequent adult life, and those that influence their parents’ health and wellbeing. Between 2007 and 2010 nearly 14,000 women and their babies have been recruited to the study, and we are currently undertaking a follow-up study of the children who are now aged between 10-13 years.

ActEarly has a vision to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas through a focus on improving environments that can influence health and life chances. Making this vision real requires substantial and sustainable changes to the broader early life environments that have a lifelong influence on our health. Our ActEarly City Collaboratory will provide research-ready, people-powered and data-linked test beds to promote a fairer and healthier future for children and develop a global example of how to work with communities to improve health.

We are looking to appoint a research data analyst to support the development and analysis of both programmes, to assist in the writing up of research papers and in the planning of new research studies in this area. The successful applicant will be highly motivated with the flexibility and technical skills to work across database and statistical packages. They will join a team of leading health researchers from across the UK who are working in close partnership as part of Born in Bradford and ActEarly.
