Brief Description of the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for two research fellows to join the team at Born in Bradford.
At Born in Bradford we have a vision to promote a healthier, fairer future for children and adults living in deprived areas through a focus on improving environments and reducing health inequalities that can influence health and life chances.
We are looking for two organised, motivated and enthusiastic research fellow who share our exciting vision, and who have expertise in applied research, questionnaire development, quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, to join us in creating a number of ground-breaking research programmes that will shape the lives of future generations.

With the award of grants from UKRI and the Health Foundation we have established a new research stream within BiB to explore the health, economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are looking for an organised research fellow with skills in research project management, questionnaire design and participant recruitment to join this fast paced project.
The postholder will play a major role in co-ordinating our COVID-19 research programme as well as supporting the ongoing cohort studies, in particular the Born in Bradford’s Better Start cohort. The role will involve working closely with the research team to develop, pilot and implement recruitment strategies and longitudinal surveys . It will also involve substantial engagement with communities and stakeholders to help co-produce priorities for ongoing research and ensure effective dissemination of our findings.
The Born in Bradford family cohort study follows the lives of over 13,500 children born between 2007-2011 to explore why some families stay healthy and others stay ill. Our oldest children are now entering adolescence and we are planning an exciting new follow-up of children within secondary schools across Bradford. We are looking for an organised research fellow with skills in community engagement / patient public involvement, mixed methods, and questionnaire design to help co-produce and pilot methods for this exciting new project.
The postholder will work with schools, teachers, and children and young people, to explore acceptability and feasibility of a range of methods, measures and assessments planned in this new wave of assessment and will develop applications for ethical approval.
