I got a background in Environmental Psychology and have mainly studied the psychological and mental health benefits of diverse urban attributes such as greenness or walkability. I am particularly intrigued about the mechanisms that might explain those effects, among which the promotion of physical activity and the strengthening of social cohesion hold an eminent position. I’m also interested in the potential health inequalities that may take place in this area. I have also developed a taste for environmental risk perception and communication, and conducted some studies on controversial facilities.

I have worked most of my career in the University of the Basque Country and in Biodonostia Health Research Insitute (both in Spain) and was a visiting research fellow in the University of Tampere (Finland) in 2017 and 2018. Always keen on learning new statistical analyses for addressing new research questions.
