Joe joined Born in Bradford as a Senior Research Fellow in April 2022. His current work aims to evaluate the impact of interventions for the prevention of mental ill-health in adolescents, using data from the Age of Wonder cohort alongside linked research and routine data. Joe has a background evaluating public health interventions and surveillance approaches for infectious diseases that affect the world’s poorest populations. He studied Biological and Medical Sciences at the University of Liverpool, before completing an MSc in Tropical Disease Biology and an MRes in Quantitative Skills in Global Health. He gained a PhD in Global Health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in 2022. Prior to joining the BiB team, he also worked as a research assistant in the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group.
