Lizzie joined Born in Bradford as a Senior Research Fellow in October 2020. She is part of the Better Start Bradford Innovation Hub and leads on community engagement initiatives across Better Start and Born in Bradford.
Lizzie has a background working with diverse populations in an international context and in the UK with interest in health literacy and accessibility, non-communicable diseases, participatory methods, healthy behaviours. Her PhD research involved developing a behaviour change intervention to improve nutrition in people with diabetes in Nepal. Lizzie is passionate about improving health and wellbeing and addressing health inequalities and she has conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Leeds and Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh prior to joining the Born in Bradford team.
